Johnston County (JoCo) and its many unique towns are located along I-95 and I-40 in the center of North Carolina and are perfect for leisure travelers choosing the Triangle region for weekend trips, visiting friends and family, and hosting reunions. Outlet shopping at Carolina Premium Outlets is a big draw, along with our museums like Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site, Ava Gardner Museum, and the Tobacco Farm Life Museum. If you love getting out in nature and are interested in agritourism we have outstanding sites to explore like the Clemmons Education State Forest and Howell Woods for biking, hiking, and bird-watching. Our area farmers are open for day trips, strawberry picking, pumpkin picking and special events. Check our calendar of events often to plan a visit. And if your love is food and craft beverages, take a weekend and explore the Beer, Wine and Shine Trail for tastings and tours at 2 wineries, 2 breweries and 2 distilleries. Get to know us better on our social accounts and our BLOG which we write weekly -- we would love to see you in Johnston County!
Meet the JCVB Team
Johnston County Visitors Bureau/Smithfield, NC is the official destination marketing organization for the entire county. Our mission is to promote our attractions, festivals, shopping, dining and places to stay. We do that with content on our website, and a variety of marketing and public relations campaigns. Our funding is primarily provided by the 3% room tax paid by visitors while staying ... more ernight in accommodations, some grants, and the JoCo Hospitality Association which is membership based. We invite you to engage with the JCVB staff and call upon the Tourism Authority to build our communities through tourism – visitors bring dollars, support jobs, and drive demand for commercial development. Tourism is economic development! less
